Good morning!
Another long and fun day in Chicago yesterday. We spent most of the day on the Chicago Trolley which was well worth the money. For $35 you can use this for three days to hop on and off and see the sights. There is also coupons in the booklet that comes with it so for sure we picked up our free candy bar at the Hershey store, popcorn, and most importantly priority seating Gino’s Pizza! We were in line – with a 20 minute wait and then walaa! With our Trolley passes we were seated right away.
We had to have the “pizza” experience in Chicago and this is where we were told to have it.
Needless to say after our Gino’s lunch we did not have supper. Wow. That’s a lot of pizza. 😛 Beth Fish Reads hosts a weekend cooking meme on weekends and while I am not cooking, I am enjoying good food. 😀
We continued our tour seeing movie sights, famous buildings, Harpo Studios, Hard Rock Hotel, the Face Fountain (SO COOL!)
and finally – The Bean…
We came back to the hotel tired and happy. Today we are doing one more swing through Chicago and then we are heading back towards home so the drive is not so long tomorrow. We are thinking of a mall spot in Wisconsin, something about a Fonzie statue, staying over night and then back to Brainerd Minnesota tomorrow.
I see you’re having a great time doing all the touristy things. Looks like you’re having a blast.
Chicago is a great city to visit in the summer, so much to see and do. I haven’t been to Ginos in ages, yum! Every time I walk past Millennium Park I have to stop and watch that fountain, it really is amazing. And of course The Bean!
Looks like a great time. I’m glad you are enjoying your mini vacation!
I’ve been to Chicago several times now but have never seen any of this stuff. I love that fountain!!
I have never been to Chicago. Would love that pizza place, I’m sure. From the photos of the pizza, it reminds me of a very Italian-style pizza place in Midtown Sacramento, called Zelda’s. We make a point of going there whenever we’re in Sacramento.
Oh, you’re killin’ me with the pizza photo! I do love Chicago style pizza. Here in PA they say Old Forge, PA is the pizza town, but they must never have been to Chicago. Looks like you’re having a blast. Safe trip home.
Mmm, I love Gino’s pizza! I wonder if my name is still on the wall…. I’m totally jealous of your trip, and hoping you’re having a great time.
Chicago is one of my favorite towns to visit for lots of reasons but also to include the food. We always get the Chicago Dog from the street vendor over by the Field Museum. Hope he’s still there. He has been on al our visits.
It sounds like you’re having a blast!!
OK, so I’m hungry now! 🙂 Looks like you’re having a wonderful time!
Hi!
Sounds like a great time your having. That face fountain looks like loads of fun. Have a great day!

Looks like you’re having a fantastic time. I’ve been wanting to see Chicago, and now I want to even more!!
Sounds like fun! We went to Chicago last month and really enjoyed it. Our pizza experience was Edwardo’s and we liked it, although we could have used a couple of more friends to eat it all. I guess I’ll have to try Gino’s next time, strictly for scientific comparison purposes.
Chicago pizza and calamari….how could you go wrong!
what a fabulous trip — and that pizza!!!! OMG looks good.
Looks like you had a lot of fun!!!
I love Chicago!! My oldest son is hoping to move there when he’s done with his enlistment…it would be fun to visit him there!!
I wouldn’t say that Chicago is ‘my kind of town’ but it looks like your visit was lots of fun. With yummy food!
Gino’s Pizza is delicious! Boyfriend and I had it last time we went to Chicago… yum!
Looks like an awesome time, and that food is making my stomach grumble! I could eat pizza anytime — even for breakfast.
Been to Chicago once and loved it.
