Morning Meanderings – Mockingjay Anticipation and an Itchy trigger Finger

Oh ….. do not mock me.  If you have followed the Suzanne Collins books at all….. Hunger Games, Catching Fire…. how could you not be anticipating the day – THIS BOOK….  on the week of the big release.

I am hoping – quite soon here…. to be completely “mocktified” in the book.  I think it will be “mockilicious”…..  and I am not using mockery, I mean it…. I really do.

AND – with this read of course you know I get to dust off The Spoiler Button.  My, how I love this button.  It is I think perhaps my favorite blog creation…. a link… a space to talk openly and freely about a book without any whistle blowing or the dreaded “blog tomatoes” that can be tossed at posts that reveal spoilers to an unsuspecting reader who has yet to experience the book….

That is why I have taken today to read – not peak at any Mockingjay blog conversations until I am done.  And then I am writing the review from my fresh untainted view (at least that’s the plan).  😛

So my friends, are you reading Mockingjay today?  This week?  Soon?  Are you a fan of the series?  Why or why not?

Go on…. push it.  You know you want to.  😛

Oh and for giggles….. feel free to link any Mockingjay type posts you may have here.  Link your reviews – and giveaways…  as soon as I have finished my book I will want to visit others to see what they thought.  **Please distinguish in the heading section your blog name and if it is a Mockingjay review, giveaway, or other.  In the link section – please link directly to your post.

Thanks all 😀

  1. Thanks for popping back in to see how I was doing with Mary Queen of Scots. The old girl just had to go….

Am reading Roger Zelazny’s Damnation Alley now. Much more interesting & engaging!

    1. Wow Joy! That is awesome! When the last Harry Potter came out I flew through it in about 14 hours. Then – a few days later I read it again, slower this time to take it all in. I will probably do the same thing here. 😀

  2. I still haven’t read Hunger Games which clearly makes me a world class idiot since everyone seems to love this series so much. It’s on my Christmas list!

  3. I am frothing at the mouth in anticipation of reading this book! I have had confirmation that my Amazon order shipped today as I can’t get into the shops unil the weekend. I am BEYOND excited!!! :o)

    1. Woo hoo! I checked my order status last night Book Whisperer, while I was disappointed that it wasn’t waiting for me when I got home last night I was kind of glad it wasnt. I was exhausted and I know I would have tried to stay up and read that book. 😀

  4. Trisha, I am with you. I still have not dove into the Suzanne Collins “world”. Since I tend to devour books so quickly I think that it is finally time to start before I hunker down with my heavy novels of fall and winter. The reviews I have read have been fantastic! I am truly surprised that I have been able to hold off for this long. :o)

    1. I would have never dreamed that I would have Esme but from the start I loved the characters and fell right into the world of Suzanne Collins and the Hunger Games.

  5. Okay, I’m the odd woman out, here, since I haven’t read this series….I could say “yet,” but I seriously doubt that I will.

I try to limit my fantasy/paranormal, YA, etc., books…

I will read your review when you’re done, and perhaps there will be a change of heart.

  6. I haven’t read this series but your love for it as seen through your new words (mocktified and mockilicious) definitely draws my interest. It might be a while before I read it due to my growing TBR pile, but it is definitely on the list!

  7. Thanks for commenting on my blog! Amazon says Mockingjay will arrive today via UPS! I plan on starting it immediately–and my fingers are crossed that it will arrive during the kids’ nap time.

Yesterday we took a trip to Target, and I let my kids browse the kids’ books and toys while I started reading chapter 1!

    Heather

  8. I saw Mockingjay today at Costco. I didn’t buy it since I haven’t read the others. Sounds like a great series.

  9. Read the Hunger Games for the first time yesterday. I am now number 10 on the library wait list for Catching Fire. I know I won’t be able to stand it and will probably be downloading the next two books on my iPad soon.

    1. Hee hee Heather! I didnt see this comment until after I responded to your above one – LOVE IT! Enjoy – someday I will need to listen to them all on audio I know it. 😛

  10. I preordered it ages ago … and now I’m on vacation and it is sitting on my porch!!! I hope it doesn’t get stolen by literate tweens in my neighborhood before I get home!

  11. So glad to hear your copy of Mockingjay arrived! Enjoy! It can be so frustrating when pre-ordered books don’t arrive in a timely manner (especially when you’d taken the day off work to read). I hope you will love it! It was definitely a book I could not bear to set down for a second until I’d turned the last page, and I am still kind of reeling from it. I hope my review came out at least semi-coherent today. 🙂

    1. Violet I am just cruising through the book now…. have to prep a post for tomorrow since I am back to work and all – but as soon as I have done that – back to the book! 😀

  12. This whole series is on my To Read List. It took me a long time to get them to order HUNGER GAMES at the library, but they have since kept up with the series. I’ll never be able to compete with the teens to check it out. That’s OK, I’m glad to see them reading. I can wait until the newness wears off.

  13. I’m so behind. I still have Catching Fire waiting on my bookshelf. Which is killing me. Because there are so many reviews and discussions going on. And I’m missing out. I think that this weekend is a good opportunity for me to catch up on Catching Fire and delve in to Mockingjay! I saw someone carrying the book around the other day and it definitely got me excited. And I love that you use a Spoiler Button – it really helps me out when I’m deciding what reviews I should read, and which ones I should avoid!

    1. Jennifer I try to be really careful in my reviews to not give anything away – sometimes it is hard to do… or sometimes what feels like a spoiler, is actually info on the jacket cover. 😀

I too love the spoiler button because sometimes i just want to go crazy talking and figuring out a book – much like Mockingjay 😀

Hmmmm... what do you think?
