In honor of the wonderful Gilmore Girl Challenge – Lisa over at Lit and Life asked me if I would do a Mini Challenge and I was honored to do so. If you are familiar with the series (and I hope you are!) This mother/daughter quick whit team refers to so many books…. well so many – that there is a Gilmore Girl Challenge.
Another thing they refer to almost as much as books, is movies. Since Lisa has the book part of this Challenge well covered, I am going to take the movie part. I think many of us who love books, also love good movies! So here is my Challenge to you. Over these winter months we tend to watch more tv…. SO – your task, my fellow Gilmore Girl addicts….. is to watch and review some of these wonderful choice movies!
This Challenge will start today and go through March 8, 2010. To do this challenge you need to watch and review any of the movies on the list below. As you do your reviews, use Mr Linky to link directly to your movie review for this mini challenge. Be sure to link DIRECTLY to the review so I can count it. For each review you do on the movies from the Gilmore Girls, you will receive one entry for a change to win choice – either The Gilmore Girls Soundtrack or the Coffee AT Luke’s book.
One more thing… You must be signed on for the Gilmore Girl Challenge in order to participate in this one. What! You are not signed up? Well it is not too late! Pop over and look at the challenge – the books are a wonderful selection and it is going to be a ton of fun!

Lorelai: So, apparently, I’m now the Reigning Lorelai.
Rory: Huh. I guess you are.
Lorelai: It’s a lot of responsibility.
Rory: Well, sure.
Lorelai: I mean, it’s mostly ceremonial stuff nowadays. Declaring knighthoods, opening supermarkets. But now and then, you get to banish someone or pose for a stamp.
Rory: Neat. And coins.
Lorelai: Yeah, and coins. You know, someday you’ll be the Reigning Lorelai.
Rory: I don’t like that idea!
Lorelai: Why not? You get a cape.
Rory: Because if I’m the Reigning Lorelai, then that means you’ll be gone.
Lorelai: Gone? No, not me. I’ll step down way before that. I’m not going to pull a Queen Elizabeth on you, make you wait around forever, force you to develop interests in polo and architecture.
Rory: I am scared of horses.
Lorelai: I know that.
Rory: So there’s a cape, huh?
So much fun! I’m signing up for this – thank goodness for Netflix!
Oh Lydia! YAY!!!
Good luck with your challenge! Think I’ve reached my challenge limit this year, but wishing you the best! Although if there were a cape involved…. *L*
I am just hosting this one Alexia…. 🙂
Wow! I am so tempted, but I’ve signed up for so MANY challenges already!
But as I peruse the list, I see several movies I’ve already watched and they are fun!
This is just a bonus mini challenge off the Gilmore one, Laurel… its not a big commitment at all…. hint hint….LOL
Wow! I had no idea this many movies were mentioned. This was a lot of work to put together. And I know it meant spending hours poring over the episodes which was probably just torture for you-ha! I’m going to pull out a couple of these movies to watch this weekend while I’m doing Blogiesta.
Lisa – I know -t he more I researched the bigger it got…. I like your idea of watching them during the blogiestsa – I should do that too! 🙂
Good luck with your challenge. I love the Gilmore Girls!
Thanks Jenifer I really love them too…. every time I watch them I am in awe of how witty they are!
For the Mister Linky, do you want us to leave our name or the movie’s name in the top space?
Great question Lydia….. do it like this

What a wonderful mini challenge! I love it. 🙂
Thanks Christina!
There are a lot of movies on this list I have not seen in years. I may have to take a closer look at the list or print it out. I would love to watch a few of these movies again. Almost like the first time again since its been so long. I think my son and I could do these together.
Thanks for the great challenge!
Hi Melissa – I know… it was fun to go through them and recall them in the shows. What a fun thing to do with your son!
I can’t think of a more fitting challenge for gilmore girls than to try to watch a some of the movies mentioned throughout the show. I’m definitely in!
Dana – thank you. I wanted to help promote Lisa’s G ilmore challenge but I didnt want to do the same thing she was. This works! 🙂
Thanks for coming up with this challenge. I love the series and had not realized so many movies were mentioned. I miss the Gilmore Girls and although I have the complete series, I miss watching a program that made me laugh, brought back memories from the 80’s and was so rich in pop culture.
Hi Christina – yeah they talk movies all the time! 🙂 I love the pop culture as well.
Sad to say I have never watched the Gilmore Girls. ABC isn’t a network we watch. I’ll have to check it out. I am familiar with many of the movies on the list, many are on my “I really want to see that one some day” list.
I’ll have to decide about this challenge.
Pat Gilmore Girls is my all time favorite tv show…. I am a total addict!
Great – a list to take to dvd shop!
We shall see how many we can watch.
Love Leanne
