Review Policy

I absolutely adore books and love it when publishers and authors approach me to review their book.  Here is my policy on books reviewing:

One Persons Journey Through A World of Books Review Policy

Policy written 7/29/09

Thank you for considering me to review your book.  Due to the overwhelming amount of requests I get, I have put together this review policy to be sure that I am the right fit for you.  If I do agree to review your book and finish the read I will put together a honest  post with links to websites  and author blogs if applicable.

Please note that I do try to answer every email, even if it to say thank you but I need to pass.  If for some reason you do not hear a response from me you are right to believe I did not get the email and are welcome, if you choose to do so, request a review again.

  • 1.  I ask to be sent information (what is the book about, what age group is the book for) on the book and links to the book, cover pic,  as well if you have them.  If the book does not look like a fit for me I will let you know and will try to connect you with other book reviewers who I think your book may fit.

  • 2.  I currently do not review e books.

  • 2a.  I do not normally feature authors or books that I have not read

  • 3.  To see what genres of books I have reviewed in the past click on the Review tag that is along the right sidebar.

  • 4.  I enjoy reading Historical Fiction, Women’s Fiction, Young Adult (YA), Mystery, Cultural Fiction and Non Fiction, Literary Fiction, Children’s reads, Chick Lit (some), Fantasy, True Crime

  • 5. I do not read much Romance, Paranormal, Horror, Poetry, Science Fiction, Erotica.  I do not enjoy books with a lot of foul language, extreme sexual content ,or strong graphic violence.

  • 6. If I review your book I will give an honest review.  I do not guarantee a favorable review,  if I find the book not to my liking I will give a reason in my review why so my readers can understand.  I try to connect my readers to author websites, book related contests, a taste of what the publisher has said about the book, and then what I thought of the book.  I will post my review to my blog, Amazon and/or Barnes and Noble.  I may try to arrange an author chat or other ideas.  Here is an example of a review of a book I thoroughly enjoyed:  click here

  • 7. I have no guarantees as to when I can read your book.  I have many books to review and currently manage two offices.  If there is an urgency to a review (IE. release date, blog tour, etc…) Please let me know and I will see what I can do.

  • 8.  Accepting to review your book does not guarantee a review.  I try to choose books to review that I believe I will enjoy, however if your book is not a fit for me I will not review it unless I am able to read at least 3/4 of the book.  If I can get through 3/4 of a review book I will post author information, links and book info.

I am very active in the blogging community and currently receive around 440 individual hits a day, more if you count those who return in the same day.  Thank you for considering me to review your book.
