Morning Meanderings… The BIG Painting Project
Squeaking in late today. I got up and hit the gym and then went and set the new March window at the Library. Then picked up a few groceries so I would not have to leave the house again today.. unless I want to… unless Al and I go to a movie… you know, something fun
Last week I painted the downstairs of our house and I had said I would post the pictures today for Saturday Snapshot, so here they are:
A fun fact I found out last week, painting burns 320 calories an hour. This explains why after a day of painting we are a little stiff the next day.

It looks beautiful, very light and fresh. My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/ZoRZX
Thanks Christine, I am really happy with it.
I do love the neutral palate…enjoy! And I see you’re reading (or listening) to Her…so am I! Thanks for visiting my blog.
How is it going for you. ‘Her’ that is? I am finding it to be slow going.
I love, love, LOVE the color you chose! All your hard work paid off! Here’s my Saturday Snapshot post!
I listened to two who audio books while I completed this… It was fun but sucked all my free time for the weekend.
You are wonder woman! It looks great!
Thanks Kathy
Wow! No wonder you were a little stiff!!! Love it!
It was one of those projects I am always surprised how long they take!
Oh my! That’s a lot of work! Good for you.
Thanks Deb, I have wanted to repaint that area for about 5 years now…
Good job! It’s looks nice and I love that shade of green!
I do too Freda, it has a warmer feel to the room.
Looks like it came out great!
Thanks Megan, I think so
Looks so cozy. You are awesome to have painted all that by yourself!
I was alone in the house for the weekend… might as well take on a BIG project
That green is very relaxing, and I would love it in my house!
I am happy with it
Great job — that is almost exactly the colour we have in our living room. I like the refreshing feeling it gives, very peaceful! Great idea to listen to audiobooks while painting.
Audio goes well with housework of any kind
It looks amazing! Have a nice glass of wine and celebrate!
Is that a lower level basement room?
What a great idea Patty! I may do that tonight.
Oh and yes Patty, it is a basement that we finished in 2004.
Turned out very nicely…Looks inviting and comfortable♫ Thanks for commenting on my Bear With Me blog♥
Sure
Thanks for coming by
Well done! Looks fabulous – now relax and enjoy it
Thanks – so far I have layed pretty low this weekend… I was busy until about 11 am today but then came home, did a little work and took a long nap
Looks great! Definitely a BIG project!
I always think things will take less time then they do
Not sure if I would have guessed that it would take me 12 hours if I would have completed it between Friday evening and Sunday morning. I probably would have broke it down between a couple weekends
Ooo, Sheila. I love that color! I am excited to live in my own house sometime in the future and get to paint things whatever color I want
I love to paint… it is a semi reasonable way to give a room new life
First of all, BRAVO! I would not be able to walk for a few days if I painted all that you did! Love the color.
Thanks Nise
I am super stubborn and had to get it done.
The color is very nice– a soothing green. That is a lot of painting. Impressive. Here’s Mine
Thanks Paulita
What a big accomplishment. Putting your mind, will, and effort together. The downstairs look so clean and comfortable. Very nice photos.
Thanks, that is a good work for it – it has a clean feeling to it as well.
Oh wow! Great job. I love the colour too
Thanks
Very nice colour, compliments the furniture well
Kudos! Looks marvelous! Nice clean lines and a nice change for you, huh? Too boot, calories burned! Tra la!
Looks wonderful… and burning calories while listening to books –what a plus!
I love your downstairs! It’s very pretty and must be a great area to relax in. The paint looks so nice although it does remind me of the painting I need to do around here. Ugh.
You did great! It took me 4 hours to paint my garden shed and I didn’t even have to be neat about since I was outside. Your downstairs would have taken me a month! lol
