Minnesota/ Wisconsin Book Blogger Meet Up

Myself and Reagan from Miss Remmer’s Reviews are planning to attend the Twin Cities Book Festival on October 16th and we thought this would be a wonderful time for any book bloggers in the area to meet up.  We are still working out the details and  Reagan (Miss Remmer’s) is looking into hotel prices today as well as area bookish happenings…. but the basics for now is this:

We are thinking of getting together the evening of the 15th for dinner with those who are able to join us, and then attending the Book Festival on Saturday the 16th.  We can gather together again to go and see other area bookstores and more and for those who do not wish to head back home until Sunday morning we will be staying a second night.

If you are interested in this please email me at journeythroughbooks@gmail.com and I will send you more information as it comes available.   If you know of any Book Bloggers who are in this area please let them know about this meet up.  It would be fun to meet some of you!

Here is a link to what is happening so far in the Book Festival.

  4. Sounds like so much fun!! I live in North Florida but visit Minnesota often for work!

  5. What a fun idea! I wish I lived close enough by to go!

  6. I wish you all lived closer too – you would all be such a blast to spend time with!

  7. This sounds like so much fun! I think I’m free that weekend, so I’ll have to look into and let you know!!

  8. [...] Minnesota/Wisconsin Book Blogger Meet Up Planned in October (I am working with Reagan from Miss Remmer’s Reviews to attend a book festival in the twin cities and hopefully create a meet up around this event.  Check out the details!  [...]

  9. Whoo!! Its going to be so fun!!

  10. I wish I was available that weekend, I’d be there! I’ll have to read your recap instead.

    • Its our first time out of the shoot Mary – hopefully we can gather a group of interested Minnesota book blogger events and have a couple meet ups a year. That would be fun!

  11. Argh. Too bad this is still 8.5 hours from me! :(

  12. Oh my goodness! Thanks for leaving this comment on my blog Sheila because I totally missed this post! I will absolutely be there. I will send you an email soon.

  13. Wow, I am really going to look into this – I would love to meet some local bloggers and go to a book festival. Have to see if I can make this work:)

  14. This sounds like a LOT of fun. I’m due to have Baby 3 on October 23rd so I’m keeping my travels close to home these days. My in-laws live in Mound (west of Minneapolis) so I definitely need to keep this in mind for the future. It could be a combined trip to see the family and to meet my fellow bloggers!

Thank-you for leaving the message on my site!!

    • I am not sure how great the book festival will be, I have never been there before Laura but hopefully we book blogger types can find plenty of bookish things to do.

I will keep you in mind for future get togethers – and congratulations on your almost arrival of joy! :D

  15. Ah Crud! I LIVE in minneapolis, but am going to Chicago that day for a reading.

  16. Sounds like a great idea. I hope you all have a great time!

I won’t be participating in “It’s Monday!” tomorrow as I’ve just finished a book and I’m off to London first thing in the morning (I really need to choose a paperback to take with me!). I look forward to joining in again next week though.

    Take care :)

  17. [...] Last week to jump on the group meet up of Minnesota and surrounding area Book Bloggers,  check this post for details [...]

  18. A book festival? But you leave no directions on how to get there from England. Seriously, do keep us posted on what sounds like a great event.

  19. OH OH! I will be at the Boston Book Fest when you are here! Yippee for bookfestivals!!!

  20. how fantastic! i have never actually been to a book festival but hope to go to several in the next year. this one looks fab!

  21. I’m also jealous – first for the festival and meet up and second… I haven’t been home in about three years and miss my family so much!

They keep coming to visit us so we haven’t had a reason to get back :)

I posted my review for Room today (with the author Q&A). She’s great at answering questions. I will check back for your review – curious! I didn’t love this one as much as most readers (but it was good).

  22. Sounds like fun. We accidently ended up in the Twin Cities a few years ago for just a couple days and really liked it. We hope to get back some time.
All the book fairs seems to be too far to get to conveniently. They just had one in D.C. and one in Baltimore. There is one coming up in Nashville, but that is 5 hours away.
Wouldn’t it be great to spend a year attending all the book airs, writer conferences, and reader/blogger events!
